Learn Vedic meditation and give back to those in need!
Giving is at the heart of what we do with our meditation community. It brings the most joy and is the motivator for all our offerings. The Sanskrit word for this is ‘seva’ which is where we get our English word ‘service’. Seva is about giving what you have, sharing your self and uplifting those around you in need.
I am inspired by so many people who’s natural state is to be of service. And I know it to be the real gift of life. You can literally feel it in every cell of your body, when you are doing seva. And seva doesn’t necessarily mean volunteering your time at an organisation (although that is also a great way!) Seva is literally being of service in every moment, in every interaction, bringing the fullness of yourself to the need of the time - to your friends, your family and all your fellow human beings you come into contact with. In this light, you realise that giving is actually the greatest receiving in life.
And I wanted to be able to share this expression of giving even more by supporting three wonderful Australian not-for-profits through my Vedic meditation teaching practice. Therefore, when you come and learn to meditate with me, you will have the choice to support one of these three that I feel are important, relevant and share the common vision of a world where everyone feels safe, has a home, a full belly and is loved and supported by those around them.
The organisations we are working with are:
A Sound Life Charity
Refugee Council of Australia
Over the next few posts I’ll be sharing more about each of these three, why we’re supporting them, how they give back and how you can get involved! Till then I leave you with a quote from a woman who knew the power of giving from the depths of her heart...
“It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
- Mother Teresa
